Last night we saw the last of the season @halopolo Last night we saw the last of the season @halopoloacademy instruction tournament and it was great, full of excitement and new talent to the sport. This short video shows the great team work by 2 up-and-coming players Zoey Miekle and Lacie Handley. This shows the counterattack after the black team took the ball inches away from scoring a goal in the final minute. The ball was first taken up the pitch by Zoey with Lacie backing up perfectly to take over the stray ball. We first thought that Lacie over hit the ball but we were wrong she was able to showoff her talent by scoring an incredible neck shot into goal. Final score 4-2 to the blue team (Dickenson Wood Solicitors) you will be see lots of this pair next season as they are both going to be playing in our U16 @wip_uk team 2024
This weekend our mighty -4 Goal team were out at o This weekend our mighty -4 Goal team were out at our home ground of Thoresby Park, captined by @caleb_meikle.polo. On the Saturday it was an early start and the fight for the final was on and we were drawn up against @halobloodstock, an incredibly strong team of @halopoloacademy students and their Coach. The battle began instantly as the ball was throwing in and both teams were not hanging around to settle into the game with end to end play for the entire 7 and a half minutes that ended with just 2 goals scored by Equine Dreams. Halo came into the 2nd chukka meaning business and quickly gained 2 goals leveling the score, this energy continued with both teams shooting and scoring goals but it was Halo that now had the upper edge with a 4-3 advantage. We were not going down without a fight, in this chukka we tighten up our formation, Caleb had some amazing runs and with the help of Georgia and Martin we took the lead back. Although this was short lived as Corey showed us the true power of a pro 2 goaler, sending the ball more than halfway down the pitch with incredible speed and accuracy as the buzzer goes the score board reads 7-6 to Halo. For the final chukka the field was full of some of the most amazing horses that are housed at Thoresby; this only meant one thing, GAME ON and it was.. A full 7 minutes of pure adrenaline. Both teams galapped, marked, hooked and ridd-off, a battle of strength which neither team was able to score. As the bell rang there was an enormous cheer from all of the Academy students on and off the pitch and it was over. Even though we didn't win this one and missed out of the final, this low level game was one of the best that has ever been played on Thoresby's ground and set the standard of play for the whole entire weekend.

Last weekend we were invited to play as @haloblood Last weekend we were invited to play as @halobloodstock /@equinedreams.co.uk in the Thoresby Summer Cup -4 this was a great honor to play with the Miekle family and Felicitas. The whole weekend was full of excitement with nail biting matches with only 1 or ½ a goal difference between each team by the end of day 1. The Saturday evening Asado at the club created a great atmosphere thanks to @mairibagley. With everything to play for we all played our hearts out which included a rather dramatic moment by our patron. The first game of the day was against @rutlandpoloclub which ended in a 5-5 draw. we then had to watch the next match Caunton Balls Vs Rutland intensely hoping for a Bulls win to put us straight into the final, they managed it with a 7 - 3 win. We were in the final with our greatest rivals the mighty Caunton Balls @johnmichael5343. We knew from the start this will be a hard battle as their team had a wealth of experience had a very strong 0 goal Pro on board @cambagley28. The only way we could win this was to play hard and fast from the outset. Captin Caleb had fire in his belly and with his sister and father by his side he knew that it was show time. With Felicitas as half-man added a freshness to the team, an amazing junior that played above her - 2 handicap to receive MVP. This combination was the answer winning the match 6½ - 5. This weekend saw our first team tournament of the This weekend saw our first team tournament of the year, the Escalina Cup (-4) at @rutlandpoloclub. Captin, Caleb Meikle and our team owner, Jake Randall-Brown were honoured to have Paul Maxfield Gullett as the 0 goal pro. After the first chukka we were down 0 - 2, during the change of horses we had a team talking to from the Coach which changed our tactics, this worked well as we were able to gain 3 goals taking the lead to 3 - 2. This small lead put fire in belly of our Captin for chukka 3 who added 2 more goals and with 1 from the Patron took us up to 6 - 2. The 4th and final chukka was played defensively giving chance for the Pro to show off his abilities by scoring 2 more lovely goals finishing the game 8 - 2. End of season presentation awards evening at @thor End of season presentation awards evening at @thoresbypolo was an amazing event. Our Little Dreamers and our Patron won some of the top awards. 👏🍾 Zoey - Halo Academy MVP Jake - Halo Academy most dedicated member Caleb - TPPC best junior Imogen - TPPC junior MVP Caleb's horse, Romeo won Best Club Pony. Friday night Thoresby Park Polo Club @thoresbypolo Friday night Thoresby Park Polo Club @thoresbypolo held its very first Development Cup, that is kindly sponsored by our team owner @equinedreams.co.uk. It was amazing to see the junior academy players with so much passion in a very close match. Their coach Corey Meikle has done an excellent job getting ready for this exciting challenge. Now it's time to open the doors and let them face other clubs. Congratulations to all 8 academy juniors.
